Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What started out as an incredibly stressful year, is now coming to an end.  January my youngest son who was 8 at the time was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.  He had gone into DKA by the time we realized what was wrong with him.  There is nothing worse than watching your child in pain, and there is nothing you can do about it.  After being in intensive care overnight, he was released from the hospital.  Then his life of finger pricks, and multiple shots daily began.  He has been awesome!  He never complains, and he is doing great!

My oldest son (who will be 21 in February, What??) has dealt with Crohn's disease since he was diagnosed at 14.  He had to have what we thought was going to be a laparoscopic surgery to repair a stricture in February.  Once the doctor started the surgery he realized there were way more issues, and he had to resection his colon, small & large intestines. The surgery took over 4 hours.  He has since recovered, and is doing great!

My job was an accountant.  Those who know anything about accounting know that Jan & Feb are busy times of the year.  Now stress at work, and stress at home, not a good thing.  I think I was on the verge of losing my mind, but I had my jewelry.

I know it sounds silly, but if it wasn't for going out to the garage at night pounding out spoons, and other different metals, I may have lost my mind.  It distracted me for a  moment, and let me just be creative and not think about everything that was going on. God put this in my path, because I needed it.

Jewelry has taken me to 3 other states besides our home state, doing various shows.  Some of these we made into family trips, and the boys loved it.  I've met some incredible people along the way, who I now see at the shows each time I go.  My jewelry is available at two locations, and will be at more in 2018.

I left my job at the end of August to focus on my business.  It was a decision my husband and I prayed about, and it was the right decision.  It continues to grow, and I continue to learn new techniques every day. I'm home more with the boys which is awesome!  So 2017 is coming to an end with a lot less stress!

Thank you for your support!  Whether it was encouraging words, liking or sharing my Facebook posts, or buying jewelry from me, thank you!

Merry Christmas to you and your families, and a Happy 2018!

Love,

Dora Heisey
